Plug your nose!

Ha! So i am going to be very honest with everyone here. I have a very hard time with dirty diapers. Pee is one thing, but poo is another. This is one of the fears that i am going to have to face. When i used to babysit, and the baby would do its #2 thing, i would have to literally talk myself through the whole ordeal without gagging. I would find a fan and set in near the spot where i was going to change the diaper. i would point the fan directly at the point of smell and turn it on full blast. the poor baby had to suffer not only with the cold wipee thing, but also with a fan making things worse. (mom please dont ask me who i did this too. and to all of those parents out there whose kids i babysat- just ignore all this). ok so i found that with the fan full blast, obviously pointing away from me, and trying not to think of the disaster that lie ahead, i was able to accomplish my mission. I have already told my husband of my fear and he is more than willing to do the dirty work when he is home. THANK YOU JESUS! Please keep me in your prayers. this will definitely be a challenge for me.

Belly Laughs!!!

Every once in a while, you need a few laughs. Here are a few things that i am VERY thankful for:

~Elephants are pregnant for two years- i am only pregnant for a maximum of 9 months

Many animals give birth to a dozen or more babies at a time- the doctors have only detected one heartbeat

My baby won't be born with hooves

Yes, there are many things to be thankful for :) Just thought you might enjoy some humor today. LOL

Heartburn = Hair???

HAHA! I thought this was funny. I have been literally eating tums every night like they are sour candy. I even buy those super-sized bottles from Costco. Oh my. I have had such terrible heartburn with this pregnancy. But i can't seem to stop eating tomatoes and jalapenos, and i will not give up my orange juice. No way! So i have just learned to live with the pain.

My mother tells me (and i dont know how much of this to believe because she is from the dark ages) that... when you have heartburn and you are prego- it means that your baby is going to come out with a head full of hair. So being the techy young lady i am, i asked google (my best friend). I found some information on there that was definitely interesting. I guess i should just trust my fave website babycenter.com. they say that there is a hormone that women produce more of when they are going to have a baby that is going to have a head full of hair. The production of this hormone gives women heartburn... i dunno.

The only thing i know is that my esophagus is on fire most of the day and i'm miserable. I told David if that whole thing about heartburn being a sign of a head of hair is true... then Jayden is going to need his first hair cut as soon as he comes out.

LOL! and no Grandpa, i am not going to gargle with baking soda. i would rather die first.

Jayden's Theme....Blue and Brown

BLUE AND BROWN
Me and David went to Babies "R" Us this weekend. We had such a great time looking around at all the items to choose for our little boy. It was so much fun walking around strollers, holding carriers, attempting to understand Pac-N-Plays, studying cribs... And the neat thing about it all was- we weren't the only couple in there. There were quite a few young people in there (without children) that were shopping just like we were. it was neat to walk around and see other prego women and their honey's shopping for their future little ones. The items above are mine and david's favorite. we love the style! Now all we have to do is register... UGHHHH!
To be honest, i didn't even really like registering for our wedding- so when it comes to this kind of thing- i do not like to be by myself. And david just has too much fun with scanners... Hopefully my mommy will be able to help me with this area :)
If you have any suggestions for diaper bags i would love to hear from ya'll... (thank you jessica for that link). Now that you all have an idea of what i like... maybe you can come up with some cute things. $300 is a little much i guess- and i don't think my husband would ever go for that!

Another Pic of Me & Jayden

(Me & Jayden)

Here is an updated pic of me and my baby. This picture was taken the day i found out that it was my little man. Don't i look happy!!! YEAH! I have already set up his little bassinet and bought him a brown blanket with a very stylish blue pillow as an accent for his future crib. I'm going with blues and browns (just in case any of you were wondering). So now begins the shopping. I'm looking for an adorable diaper bag. Does anybody have any suggestions? I've looked online but i dont want just a typical bag. I want something stylish for me and my little man. I found one at Pea in a Pod, but its like $300 and my husband thinks that is just rediculous! I don't know why.... please post any ideas or websites...

Thanks ya'll!!!

IT'S A BOY!!!!! JAYDEN ANTHONY GONZALES

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Please give a warm welcome to Jayden Anthony Gonzales, our adorable little man that we are so in love with. I cannot tell you the excitement that we felt in the ultrasound room yesterday. David and I were so excited and so anxious to find out what this little one would be. Jayden had his legs crossed and pulled all the way up to his chest yesterday, hiding. The ultrasound technician was a little worried because Jayden was hiding everything. She said that she could pull some tricks at the end, but that wasn't needed. My mommy and sissy drove up yesterday morning 3 1/2 hours to be with me. My MIL was also able to be there. So after the diagnostic study was finished (they check for all the fingers, toes, arms, legs, brain, ribs, spine, vertebrae, etc.) the ultra tech had David go get the grandmas. As soon as my mom and Martha walked in, Jayden immediately showed us who he was :) It was such a special moment for all of us. I'm glad my mommy could be there with me.

The rest of the ultrasound, Jayden flip-flopped everywhere, twirled in circles, and even sucked his thumb. He is the most adorable thing i think i have ever seen in my life! His energy is never ending. Every ultrasound tech tells me that they have never seen a baby this active before. Pray for me people!

I'm sure all of you are just as excited as me. Now i can go buy cute little hats, shoes, socks, and overalls. I'm so happy. Thank you for sharing in my joy :)

SING, BABY SING!!!!

Today i read that my baby's vocal cords are completely developed. Inside the womb, the baby now makes crying gestures, but of course no sound evolves. My mom, during all of her pregnancies played the piano and sang with all her heart, to all of us children. I believe that by doing this, my mom instilled something in us while in the womb. My brother plays the drums and is the best tenor AG has ever found. My sister plays the piano and the organ (like nobody can) and sings with everything in her. I also play the piano and organ, and i always sing with my whole heart!

While my baby's brain is developing, and while its ears are getting accustomed to sound, i have been playing the piano at home like never before, and singing with all my heart. I hope and pray that one day my baby will be able to play the piano and sing in church just like mommy. I will do everything i can to ensure that my baby hears this mommy praying, singing, and playing. That's the way that i was raised. That's the way my baby will be raised too.

This baby loves to hear daddy lead songs and teach Sunday school and preach. It just moves around all over the place. My mom said that in one of my ultrasounds- it looked like the baby was trying to preach (and that doesn't mean that its definitely a boy either- because this momma can preach just as good as daddy! LOL), although i wouldn't mind having a little preacher boy who plays the drums and the keyboard. Anyways, it had its fists clenched and it was punching in the water- like- Amen! Hallelujah!

I want to make sure the memories that i have of my childhood- translate into dreams for my children...

Let's Guess...

I thought it would be fun to start a poll. I would like to know what you all think i'm having! I have guessed and changed my guesses so many times that i'm confused. Of course, me and my honey don't care if we have a boy or a girl. All we ask God for is a healthy baby. What more could we want? I keep having dreams of this little boy in my arms- so part of me thinks that i might be having a boy... but then i have this strange feeling that i'm having a girl- so i'll go out and buy a couple girl outfits to see if it feels right! LOL! The other night i was having an "i don't know what i'm having!" moment- so i bought a boy outfit and a girl outfit. LOL.
My husband wasn't too happy about that. I've had a couple of those moments- so i have no idea what i will do with the other gender's clothes if i have one or the other... if i have a boy, i can give all the girl outfits to Season (EXCEPT FOR THE STUFF MY MOM BOUGHT) BTW people, my mom has bought way more than me. My mom and i go to garage sales on the weekend when i visit her. Don't knock it till you try it people! Thankfully my mom lives in a really nice area. i have found coach purses, D&G shoes (for like $10, not in my size of course), designer sunglasses, etc. So when we found out that i was expecting, my mom and i stopped at every garage sale that had baby items advertised. We found so many outfits worth sooo much money! I even have designer dresses from Holland for my little girl! See thats the thing: we only bought girl stuff... umm... if i have a boy... we are going to have some serious issues with trying to find him a drawer for just his items. i have no idea where i will put the girl clothes... i guess in my mom's storage unit, right mom?

so take the poll at the top of the page. Since i honestly have no clue what i'm having, i thought it would be nice to see what you all think i'm having. (NOT WHAT YOU WANT ME TO HAVE- WHAT YOU THINK I'M HAVING) just wanted to make that clear...

Once again- the day is fastly approaching. August 13th will be the day we find out what this little one is. the anticipation is killing me! Please pray the baby cooperates. i know sometimes girls have to go in a few times before they finally find out... I've already given this baby a prep talk about cooperating. i told it that i wouldn't feed it anymore hotdogs... so we reached an agreement:)

Oh the joys of having a cousin...

Raegan Gonzales
Meet my babies one and only cousin (as of right now)! Raegan is such a joy. Her beautiful smile lights up any room. Her attitude makes everyone laugh and her coo's are enough to make anybody crazy. I can hardly wait until my baby is old enough to play with Raegan. I have so many wonderful memories growing up with my cousins. Jessica and Heather lived 2 inches from my front door (no i'm not exaggerating here... just ask my mom.. she will tell you the truth). We went to school together, we went to sunday school together, we went to church together, we went to camps together, we went to conferences together, we did our hair together, we did everything together! There are so many stories to tell about the bond that cousins form. the bond is still so strong for me and my cousins. Although we fought at school and stole each other's chips (jessica) and lied on each other- that way the other cousin got spanked... we still loved each other more than anyone could ever know. I just hope and pray that my baby will be as blessed as me when it comes to forming long lasting relationships with family. I have dreams of my baby going to sunday school with its cousin, playing church, baptizing each other in swimming pools, singing in kid's choir, and playing the piano together....
Raegan, i can hardly wait till you meet your cousin. For me, it will be another dream come true..

OOOOOO MEEE FEEEET!!!!!

OOOOO the swelling...
OOOOO the pain...

ok, it may not be thaaat bad, yet! But its getting there! And NO that is not a picture of my foot. I just kind of thought i would make you all feel sorry for me for a second. Yes, my feet are starting to swell, and no it has nothing to do with my salt intake either! i don't care what anybody says about that! i have heard that this is completely normal during pregnancy so that makes me feel NO much better (i know that is poor english, mom, but it was purposely written that way). My doctor explained that its just water retention and that i need to drink more water and keep my feet up!? where do these doctors get these crazy notions anyway? DRINIK MORE WATER?!?!?!?! Doesn't he know i'm already running to the bathroom every 20 minutes... that every time i sneeze i squirt?!!!??? apparently my doctor has never been through this before -but for some odd reason i listen (and try to obey) everything he says. (HA! that was funny)

Thank you Sis. Chrissy for bringing up Pastor White's sermon on Dreams and Memories. This will be a message that will forever be engraved in my mind. I cannot tell you how deeply that sermon struck home for me. It seems like all of us at one point have made our memories greater than our dreams. I'm just glad that God has placed such a special pastor in my life to remind me of something so important. I pray that God helps me to always remember to make sure my dreams are always greater than my memories.

I wish i could tell you how many dreams i have for my future and the future of my family. these dreams have been mine ever since i was a little girl pushing my dollies in strollers and playing church in the garage with lawn chairs and karaoke mics with Jessica and Heather (my cousins). Dreaming of marrying a preacher... singing specials, playing the piano, and worshipping with my whole heart while holding my little dolly close to me... These were things that i did as a little girl, and i thank God that he has kept me till now so that these dreams can become reality for me. My dreams have become so much greater and i have so many things that still need to come to pass in my life. This little one is such a big piece of the puzzle. This little one is my dream! This little one is my miracle!

Let's Just Face it People!

EVERYONE has gas! (except my mom)...

Interesting Fact: The average person produces between 1 and 3 pints of gas each day and passes gas about 14 times a day.

That said, you may experience even more gas than usual during pregnancy. So recently i have found myself belching like a coke drinker and have had to extend my skirt waistline to allow my tummy to relieve bloating..Why does this happen? Apparently it has something to do with hormone levels. some hormone relaxes your muscle tissue in your body include the gastro tract. This relaxation slows down my digestive processes, which can lead to gas, bloating, burping, and flatulence and generally create miserable sensations in my gut, especially after a big meal.

i have no idea why i shared that with you all. I just have had it rough lately.

Pregnancy hormones have also been out of control. I was telling Sis. McElhaney last night that the littlest things just make me sob. Because i was in the ER all Sunday morning with contractions (don't wory i'm fine) , Sis. McElhaney told me that she would sing for me on Sunday night. Tears just flowed like a river. For some odd reason that was the most precious thing that had ever happended in my life. She probably doesnt know this, but Alicia also brought me to tears last night. She called my cell because they changed the restaurant we were meeting at from Outback to Islands.. again.. tears like a river- it just touched my heart so much that someone would take time out of their busy schedule just to tell me that we were eating somewhere else. (sniff)

I'm going to mention 2 wonderful friends in this blog who have truly blessed me in the last couple of days- so all you other friends out there... don't get jealous!

Adrianne... your support through this pregnancy has been so wonderful. I love it when you boss me around and tell me what to do (like you've been prego before) and i love how you give me big hugs and tell me you care about me and this little one... (oh boy... my eyes are watering i have to stop...)

Nicole... thank you for putting up with my late night phone calls that consist of stupid pregnancy questions. and thank you for yelling at me every time i call. it truly inspires me to be more like you every day. i hope i can be as good of a mom as you have been to your little monsters :) i miss you :(.... ( more tears... sniff)

ok i have to stop people. i have to work now. i hope you all have a wonderful day today. Pray for me that my uterus cooperates and doesnt contract anymore and that my flatulence is kept to a minimal occurence. (did i spell that right)

Thank you :)

(i apologize for any spelling errors. my mom has to read it first- then she will call me and tell me of my embarrassing spelling errurs- thats just the way it works)
