Its amazing how much more fun the holidays become when you have kids around. This year we went to downtown LA to the Fashion District and got our little man a suit for the big day. It even came in a little suit bag thing

One of the advantages of being a stay at home mom.... frequent trips to parks. Here is a favorite pic of mine.

We are staying at my parents house right now and enjoying the beautiful spring weather (except for the wind!) Jayden has a little Cozy Coupe that he just loves to drive around the property :)

April 2011- Part 1

Hi Everyone!!! Happy April to you all!! This was a very busy month for the Gonzales Family :) I started off the month by traveling with my best friend Natasha to go marry off my other best friend Sheramy Dianne in Tulsa, OK. Me and Tash actually left the last day of March and then came back home on the third of April. We had so much fun!!! It was so good to see a ton of people i haven't seen in a very long time. Although i miss Sheramy like crazy already.... i do NOT miss her new home town.... i will take our California with all of its faults (literally) ANYDAY!

I flew back home and we were immediately off to Disneyland to celebrate David's birthday!! Jayden is at such a perfect age to take. His favorite ride is the carousel :) He loves horses right now so when he got to get up on one.... forget it.... we went over and over and over.... omw...
Paul and Laura and their little family joined us on Davids birthday. Jayden and Raegan are adorable interacting with each other. They are such a hoot! And we get compliments all day on how adorable they are :)

Jayden wasn't too sure about this ride :) I convinced him it was an airplane and by the time the ride ended... he was very upset that he couldn't do it again

Hi Everyone!! It has been a most exciting month here at the Gonzales household... The biggest bummer when it comes to having kids- sickness. Its terrible!!!!! One sickness gets passed on to another like you would not believe! Jayden started the whole process and it ended with Mommy :) Yay! Jayden started out with fever, cold, chills, cough, snot.. u know how it goes... then Kaylee started gettin it. Then David got it bad.... then Kaylee's got worse... turned in to a double ear infection.... then it ended with Mommy getting strep throat. Lovely :)

She did best when we took walks to the park. She totally relaxed and would fall asleep. Poor baby.
Jayden always has so much fun at the park!!
His carefree giggle on the swing makes my day. It reminds me not to take life so seriously and take time to just relax and be carefree!!
Daddy spoiled him one day for being such a good boy while waiting on Mommy to finish up at our local Verizon store... This was Jaydens first ice cream cone. Ya.... we tend to think that is GOOD of us and not bad :)

Ya he started babbling 100 mph because he thought he was going to get in trouble but i thought it was too adorable and started laughing hysterically and grabbed my camera. He didn't know whether to smile or cry :) Needless to say.... that was his breakfast :) BAD MOMMY!

February has been good. Its been fun. Jayden is starting to talk like crazy!!!! His new hobby: dirt. One morning after i had let him in the backyard i noticed that he was really quiet which always means trouble. I opened the back door and found him doing this.... he had tipped over the potted plant and was completely fascinated with the mess he had made. From that day on he has wanted to play with nothing else :)

He wants dirt all over his hands....

He wants it all over his hair.....

He makes sure it gets everywhere.... he's very thorough

yep... it even got in the stroller... (don't worry mom this was before you bought me the cadillac of a stroller and that one isnt allowed outside)

So i thought of a solution: THE GIFT FROM AUNT CHARLOTTE :)

Aunt Charlotte is My Moms Co-worker and she has adopted my children and has blessed them with so many wonderful things... Aunt Charlotte bought Jayden a gardening kit a while back and he hasn't been interested in it until now. I am now teaching him how to try to keep the dirt all in one spot... and so far.... it kinda works...

Thank you Aunt Charlotte... this has been the best gift EVER!!!

Our little Miss Priss.... is more interested in her daddy :) She just loves her Daddy to death. And for now i'm keeping her all dolled up in the house with dresses and bows... no dirt yet. (Thank God)

This year hasn't started out as well as i thought it would. But life goes on. Unfortunately for me, my Aunt Kath's life did no go on. It ended abruptly January 12th due to complications from asthma. She meant so much to me. She always put me and my kids first. I'm going to miss her so very much. You can read more about my amazing Aunt Kathleen here

2010 has been one of the most challenging years in my life. Challenge is an amazing thing. Challenge defined is: a call to engage in strength. Reflecting on this past year there have been so many valleys compared to last year. 2009 was a year of mountain tops for me it seemed... but 2010 has been a year of many valleys. But you know what? I am so thankful! I am THANKFUL for the valleys. As i prayed this morning this song came to me and I'm sure

most of you know it by heart:

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to share with you some of the memories we made this year. We have been having the time of our lives with family.

Another Christmas Tradition: Candlelight Service on Christmas Eve. This is such a special service for all of us at my Gramma Ruths Church. Singing by candlelight is the highlight of my entire year!

Jayden of course loved this part too. I'm pretty sure he didn't take his eye off the flame the entire time :)

So before all the Christmas Chaos began- we had all of our neighbors over for an Open House Christmas Party. This was such a great way to reach out and get to know all of the people in our little complex. There was a ton of baking to do and tamale making that i thought would never end! Seriously! Gramma Came to Town!!

Gramma came and visited this last Saturday and we had such a good time!!

Shopping, Pinkberry and Mexican Food!

Since i know most of you are going to ask.... "What happened to his head!?"..... I'll explain.

We have stairs that lead down to the backyard. I told Jayden that we were going to go bye-bye to go get Daddy from work (the day before Gramma came and just in time for pics) . He got so excited he forgot to use the rail and now you know the rest of the story... :)

Miss Kaylee Danelle has finally arrived this morning around 7:30am. What I think is so absolutely adorable is,.........she weighs exactly what her brother Jayden weighed when he was born: 9lbs. 5oz. =) LOL Hopefully Grandma will do her job of taking lots of pics so I can upload more for everyone! Breanna's Upcoming Hospital Stay

My sister has asked that all visiting be kept to a minimum. She would like to have as much private time as possible to bond with Kaylee as well as introduce Jayden to his new baby sister. If you decide to visit her in the hospital shes asking that visitors come Saturday morning and afternoon. Once she is home- visitors are more than welcome to stop by! Just give her a call or text.

The cup did not pass for me

To all of my concerned family and friends:

This will probably be the last post from me for quite awhile. Kaylee should be here soon and then my sister will take up the posting.

My weekend recap:
Friday night i was feeling fabulous! Had pizza and a big slice of apple pie with a generous amount of ice cream. Around 10pm my stomach started churning and that's when all the fun began. I will spare you all the disgusting details. To make a very long story short- i got the stomach flu. Because of the puking and other wonderfulness that comes with the stomach bug, i ended up becoming severely dehydrated and going into labor by 3am. I waited until 430am and said ok call 911 or drive 90 to the hospital. We drove 90 to the hospital.

Upon arriving at the hospital they immediately hooked me up to IV. This was complicated because i was so dehydrated. They had an anesthesiologist come in and numb my arm and dig for awhile until he found an ok vein. (you folks should see all my bruises)... anyways... after they got the IV started with fluids they noticed my heart rate was out of control... NO DUH!!!! I was kinda freaking out and in terrible pain because of contractions!!!! So they gave me this medication to stop contractions which made my pulse go through the roof even more.... like 148 or something. More docs, more needles, more oxygen... etc... it was some serious drama

That medication didn't work... they tried another medication... that didn't work... so they put me on the most horrific medication I've ever had to be injected with in my life! Magnesium Sulfate. It almost killed me. You can ask my mom. I felt like i was dying of a heart attack. It makes you feel like you are on fire from the inside out and like you're gonna puke and like your heart is going to pound out of your chest until you kill over...

After 12 hours of this medication and a ton of other medications they were finally able to get the contractions to stop. They admitted me into a high risk pregnancy unit and thats where i stayed until i became hydrated. After 5 or 6 liters of fluid i was able to use the restroom and actually talk without my tongue sticking to the roof of my mouth.

I had my honey send the picture above to my mommy so that she would know i was on my death bed and come rescue me :) It worked and my mom came Saturday and stayed at the hospital with me all night and all day Sunday while Daddy took care of Jayden.

I am home now and I'm hydrated. Unfortunately the contractions have started up again and if the medication I'm taking does not kick in within the next 2 hours i will be back in the hospital. (which is ok) I wont need to be put on nasty medication and poked a million times. This time it would be to have a c-section which would be wonderful.

Kaylee's bed is all ready to go. Sheets are washed, blankets are washed, clothes are washed and folded, her diaper bag is packed and my overnight bag is packed too. Her car seat is ready and so are her parents :) I'm prepared as much as i can be for this little girl to get here. I can hardly wait to kiss her little chubby cheeks.

Please keep my husband and I and Jayden in your thoughts and prayers always. My poor little guy doesn't understand why mommy cant pick him up and hold him... its awful- but thank God for a precious Mother in Law who has stepped in every step of the way to take care of him as best as a grandmother can. :)

Sickness

It has seriously been one thing after another with our growing family. Jayden got some sort of virus when we were visiting my parents in Santa Maria and got over it by the time we came back home. Then i got it! Because of my pregnancy and hormones, i also had my first asthma attack and landed myself in urgent care with a couple breathing treatments. The next day David came down with it... lovely. I started feeling better after the doc put me on meds and an inhaler and David started taking antibiotics too. All seemed better until ... Jayden woke up yesterday morning at 5am puking for the very first time. It just so happens that the stomach flu is going around here in our little neighbor hood and Jayden contracted his first stomach flu virus. Its been quite the experience! My mom keeps saying "oh just wait till both your kids have it!!!" I can't stand it when she says that...

Please pray that the good Lord has mercy upon me and my hubby and lets this wastebasket, sink, toilet, etc... pass for us

Father in law update

My father-in-law will be coming home today from the hospital. They attempted the same procedure that almost killed him yesterday and he came through just fine. He has been having breathing treatments and his oxygen level has been really low. Hopefully that improved last night and this morning.

Update on Father in Law

So far last night and this morning have been uneventful. He was stable all night and was able to eat this morning. They still have no explanation as to what caused him to code. He will be moved today to a regular room once the doctor comes in and gives the clearance. They will be attempting the same procedure on Sunday or Monday but will NOT be putting him under. He will just have local anesthesia. Thank you for your prayers. Please continue to pray for our family that God would use this for His glory.

Urgent Prayer Request

My father-in-law, David Gonzales is in the ICU. He went in for a simple outpatient procedure yesterday and they lost him on the table. He completely coded. They were able to revive him in a timely manner and he is now stable in the ICU. The doctor said that he had very few seconds to save his life and it was very intense. They have no idea what could have caused this seeing that all of his pre-op screenings were perfectly fine. Please keep all of our family in your prayers. The last 12 hours have been very trying.

Home again, home again, jiggity-jig??

I DON'T THINK SO!!!

I cant Jiggity-Jig! I'm huge and swollen and so ready to pop. It also just so happens that its 100 degrees over here in good ol' SoCal. Yay. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our little baby girl. She should be here within the next 3 to 5 weeks. Please say a prayer for me. I seem to have come down with an awful cold. I'm hoping this passes soon.

Lovin' Life Right Now

We are still here in beautiful Santa Maria, Ca. The weather is usually freezing and our allergies are just awful, but i'm not complaining!! My family has helped me so much in the last couple of weeks. Being on bed rest is not easy with a 19 month old. Its near to impossible, but my family has done a great job in keeping my little guy entertained and me off my feet. Thank you Mom and Dad and Uncle Jerry and Auntie Hannie!!! We are going to miss you all terribly when we leave here Sunday :(

My mom and sis went shoe shopping the other day and were brave enough to take my little man with them. He found this bench and turned it into a jungle gym (of course)... He just had to pose- what a doofus!

Do you think this guy loves his Gramma???

I don't know..... I'm gonna have to think about that one...

We unfortunately had to take Boopie to the doctor. He got a bad rash from head to toe (literally) but, Thank you Jesus, it was nothing serious. Just a virus! Hes doing better already.

Daddy came up Wednesday after work to spend some time with us on Thursday before leaving to go on the greatly anticipated camping trip with my Dad and brother and some other men. He will be back on Sunday to take us home

Unplanned Vacation

So we are here on the beautiful Central Coast during summer escaping some of that SoCal heat and i'm lovin' it!!! I don't think its been hotter than 75 here! I have seriously had no swelling. Unfortunately my sciatica has been out of control because of the cold, but hey- you win some, you lose some, right?

Jayden has been having a blast. Uncle and Auntie just love being kids again with him! Me, being 5 weeks away from delivery... i'm not exactly agile. So thank you Auntie and Uncle for playing with Jayden every day and keeping my little man so busy. He is truly having a blast.

He got a haircut the second day we were there... my poor baby looked like such a shaggy dog! This pic is before the fun started.

Ya- we had fun... LOL!

And the end result- quite a good lookin' young man if i should say so myself.

Although it is freezing here- we are still able to go outside during 1 and 3 maybe... and get enough sunshine heat to play in water :)

And Jayden would go to the park everyday if he could....

yep- i'm pretty sure he will get to go today with Grampa and Uncle as long as he's feeling better. My poor baby isn't used to the cold weather here and has developed a cold. Poor little man.

Time Flies When.....

Time flies when you have a one year old! I seriously do not have time to sit and post on my blog. I have been so busy with my little man lately and he is so much more fun than this blog... no offense people...

So lets do a quick recap of the last 4 to 6 months that you all have missed out on :)

~Jayden is now 17 months old and is walking, running, screaming, still sucking on his binky, and saying words like: Momma, Daddy, Wow, Woah, and Hot... :) He gets lots of spankins and he knows how to shake his head yes and NO which is sometimes a problem.... He has his mom's attitude and refuses to have patience. Yes, this is my little man.

~In January we found out that I AM EXPECTING AGAIN. David and I and Jayden will be welcoming a LITTLE BABY GIRL sometime in September. I have had some complications with my pregnancy which has led to plenty of bed rest and ER visits but for now things have calmed down and i have learned how to: "take it easy" while chasing a one and half year old.

~I am now a stay at home mommy. I thought that it would be easier than working but it turns out that my men are way much more work than i expected. My day starts at 7 in the AM doesn't end until Jayden says so.... we try not to let him make the rules, but .... uhm... we are still working on that :)

So here are some pics of Jayden and these are the most recent. Presently we are staying at my parents house and spending some quality time with Grampa, Gramma, Auntie Hanni, and Uncle Jerry :)

Jayden Anthony Gonzales... you have blessed our lives in so many ways. You mean the world to your Mommy and Daddy and this last year has been the best year of our lives. Christmas Eve

I hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas this year with friends and family. We are having the time of our lives at our parents house in Santa Maria. I hope you enjoy the pics :)

Christmas Eve is always spent with my Dad's family in San Luis Obispo. We have a tradition that we have been doing since i was 3 years old. Every Christmas Eve we go to Grandma's house and meet all of the family. (My Grandma has 7 kids) Then we all go to Grandma's church for a Christmas Eve Candle Light Service. Her church is huge! They have around 500 people that attend on a regular basis, but then for the Christmas Eve service there are at least another 100 or so guests. They read the "Christmas Story" and sing songs in between passages and then at the end light candles and sing more songs. It really is my favorite thing to do on Christmas Eve. I couldn't see myself doing anything else!

After service- we all go back to my Grandma's house for dinner. She serves several different homemade soups with crackers and cornbread and then there is dessert. She bakes pies, cobblers, cookies, etc... *sigh*..... heavenly :)

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

This has been quite the year! I can't believe my little guy is almost one year old! What happened?!?!

We have been having so much fun. This last weekend we celebrated mine and my sisters bday by going on a Family Trip to Disneyland! It was entirely too much fun! It was pouring rain and we laughed so hard on Saturday- my stomach hurt on Sunday. Sunday was a gorgeous day in So Cal and we were able to get on a ton of rides with barely any wait time at all. Happy Birthday to me and Auntie Han!!!

First of all... a great big Congratulations to my Cuz... Jessica and her hubby, Lloyd. Delaney Carnegie is such a gorgeous little baby girl.

2) Congratulations to Suzanne Winkler on her engagement to Jordan! I can hardly wait to meet him!

3) And Aunt Ida... you will be terribly missed. I love you. Thank you for all of your prayers for me and my family. We will see you someday soon.... very soon...

Yes, it has been awhile since i have done a post. My life has been busy these past few months. Jayden is now a healthy and very active 9 month old. He hasn't been sick (thank you Jesus) and he has inherited his Daddy's more mellow side... thank you Jesus again!

He is so much fun! He is crawling everywhere, getting into everything, standing up (while hanging on to things), finding things on the floor i didn't know i had, and teething. He already has 2 little teeth on the bottom which are so adorable when he smiles! He laughs, throws fits, loves bath time, and hates getting dressed. He has survived the LA heat (sometimes 114 degrees), the biggest fire LA has ever seen, the worst smoke we have ever endured here, bumps, scrapes, and the bruises that come along with learning how to crawl, smashed fingers, and stubbed toes :)

He loves banging on the screen door (especially when people walk by) He loves it when people talk to him through the screen.

He was trying to help Uncle Jared fix the computer.

Busy, busy, busy

Oh my goodness.. we have a lot of catching up to do. So here it goes. Just this last week our little family went on a mini vacation. We stayed with my parents and just had time to relax... and, of course, get away from the heat.

We stayed really busy while we were there, but it was a fun- busy... One of the things i enjoyed most was the trip out on a private pier in Avila that my Aunt has access to. (special perks of being the assistant to the dean of Science at Cal Poly) While we were out there we got to do some serious whale watching. OMW! I had no idea that you could get such a thrill from watching these mammals come up out of the water. It just took my breath away... and then when my breath came back i might have hollered and screamed and jumped up and down.... just a little :)

Then we went to Avila Valley Barn. This is a place where you can pick your own fruit and veggies and go on hay rides, and pet and feed animals... Jayden's eyes were so big when he saw some of these animals move around..

and the Peacock was amazing... Jayden liked them until they started squawking at my skirt blowing in the breeze... that was funny..

As you can see... their vegetables are definitely home grown. These onions were HUGE!

We also got to go out on Vandenberg Air Force Base with Papa. We got to see the missile and the flags were lowered because the somebody of something had passed away... not really sure...

We also took a drive out to beautiful Lopez Lake... oh my word.. if only we could have picnicked there... is that how you spell that???

OK- i am a terrible wife... i didn't do a post for Father's Day.. oops. But me and Jayden did get all dressed up and we did a little presentation for Daddy at church.

Yay! Jayden now sleeps through the night... Thank you Jesus.... and he enjoys his afternoon naps too :)

Gramma and Grampa always come see us. This was when we picked up Gramma and Grampa from the airport really late... (way past our bedtime)... therefore- the Jammie's :)

and last but not least... i had to put this picture up. we ended our trip with cleaning and oiling and seasoning 200 chicken halves in Arroyo Grande.. This was hilariously and ridiculously fun and disgusting! LOL Jayden fell asleep in Gramma's arms... he was not enthused at all..

Hopefully i will not wait as long for the next post. Thank you all for being patient.

Jayden's Day at the Church Picnic

This last week was mission's week at our church and we end mission's week with an International Picnic. This year it was officially called "Fiesta at the Park". We were there from 12pm-4pm and we had a blast. It was a tad bit warm out and unfortunately they do not make sunscreen for infants under 6 months so Jayden had to stay in the shade all day. He got so much attention.. LOL

You never quite understand what "growing up so fast" means until you have a child of your own... I look at his baby pictures and just wonder where has the time gone? Although i can honestly say, if I were to die today, I have truly enjoyed every single second i have spent with this little man. I cherish every moment as if it were my last. ok. i know this doesn't look like Beverly hills, but there is no way that i could put on here that i took my son to Bass Pro Shop. LOL! Yes, yes.... that is exactly what i did. Grampa insisted that his grandson go there. So needless to say on to Bass Pro Shop we went.. Grampa bought him a couple of t-shirts. One said, "This kid likes big bucks and big trucks.." LOL..

Now this is more like it :) FIRST we took Grampa to Farmer's Market and The Grove in downtown Beverly Hills. Now that was fun! It was really warm and sunny and just the perfect day for downtown BH.

I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to wake up next to this little man every morning. He gets to sleep with mommy when daddy leaves for work at 4:45AM. We snuggle a lot. He wakes up very slow... opens his eyes... and then starts looking for me. Once he sees me- he gives me the most adorable sleepy smile you have EVER seen in your ENTIRE life!

Every time he sees me and gives me that adorable smile. My heart leaps! I am so in love with this little man and i cherish every moment we have together.

Fussiness...

MOM... i know you're talking about me.....

Fussy: easily upset, irritable....

This is what my son has been today. i have no idea why he is so fussy. i feel so bad for him, yet at the same time quite annoyed. its hard to explain. Sleep was not heard of last night. He woke up at 2- 5- 7- 8- and did fall back to sleep until 1030... AAAHHHHH! Its enough to drive a person mad. The lack of sleep is the only thing that is hard to adjust to. everything else is a joy... (except the diapers) and thank you Chantelle for that HILARIOUS clip about dads and babies. That made me laugh so hard i cried.

if i ask my mom what he needs all she says is: "he needs his Gramma"... that doesn't help very much. He wasn't hungry, he wasn't wet, he wasn't hot, he wasn't in pain... he just cried. he didn't want to be held, he didn't want to be put down...

any suggestions?

The Joys of being Jayden's Mommy!

I cannot tell you how much joy this little guy has brought into this world. Jayden has brought tears of joy, smiles, and laughter into this world since the second we found out he was a little human in the making.

Here is what Jayden wore to church last night (compliments of his Auntie Leanna). He looked so handsome. Mommy even tried to fix his hair with some of Daddy's gel, but we had to change his t-shirt before going to church because he had an accident... so the hairdo kinda went flat.

He makes the cutest little smirks now. Jessica: here is a pic of my bedroom :) HAHA.. that is one of two windows and my bed is right there under it and to the right is Jayden's dresser... (covered with a lot of things that you will soon have on your nightstand too: a bottle of milk, perfume, pacifiers, a burp rag, and a paper plate with yesterdays lunch leftovers still sitting there :)

No, i did not teach my son to do this... i asked the doctor if this was normal... he said that its possible that Jayden could be an early teether???

He loves his new toy :) LOOK HOW CHUBBY HIS HANDS ARE!!

Another joy of being Jayden's mommy is finding time to do laundry at 11PM. When that happens he is usually sleeping. In that case, Gramma Martha is usually sleeping so we have to call Uncle Matt over to sit with him :) Don't they look alike!

Matt is usually hanging out with Mario at 11PM so Mario comes over too. They are so good with Jayden. They usually have no problems dropping anything they are doing to come sit with him.

2 Month Checkup

Today was Jayden's two month check up. Dr. Bursch says that he is a very healthy young man... whose mom's milk has a ton of calories... ???

He now weighs 16lbs and he is almost 24 inches long. He did so good at his appointment today. He had to get 3 shots and one oral dosage of something. You should have seen the stacks of papers they sent me home with on his last appointment there. i had to read 3 published studies about Autism... and how immunizations do not cause autism. and then there were all of the side effects to look out for...

Hopefully he does well. i know a fever and fussiness is to be expected....

so say a prayer for my little guy tonight :)

We met there and went to lunch and then went shopping... i am doing my best to make sure this child of mine develops a desire to shop at a young age :)

First Trip to Disneyland!!!

Hi Everyone!!

Yesterday was Jayden's first trip to Disneyland! My long-time friends (The Winklers) are here visiting from Arizona for a whole week, and this weekend they went to Disneyland. My mom and my sister came down and we all made it one big trip. Unfortunately, daddy had to work so that is why he is missing in these pictures... :(

We had so much fun! Jayden got to go on one ride (the haunted house) LOLOL and he slept through the whole thing. We actually got stuck on the ride for quite a while. That was kinda creepy... but Gramma prayed all the evil spirits away from her grandson HAHAHA... you should have heard her... it was hilarious!

Update. My little bundle of joy

Hi everyone!! The day that i have been waiting for forever has finally come! Here i am sitting in the hospital typing to you all with tears of joy. My precious little bundle of joy is here with me and he is the most precious thing i have ever seen in my life. There is such a love i have-- for this baby-- i honestly cannot put this kind of love into words here.

He is gorgeous! He has chubby, chubby cheeks and the most adorable eyes.

I went into labor on Saturday evening around 8pm. By 4PM Sunday labor was still awful. Every 2-4 minutes i was contracting and nothing was happening. I was dialated to a 1 and Jayden wasn't dropping at all. He was so big he was stuck!

So around 6:25pm little Jayden entered this world by C-section.

I'm feeling great except for the fact that i have a cold and every time i cough it feels like i'm ripping my stitches out. pray for me that God will give me the strength i need to take care of this little man.

I will post again... not sure when so enjoy these pictures.

David Anthony Gonzales, i love you with all my heart. Thank you for being the best husband a woman could ever have. You mean the world to me. Thank you for all of the 3AM 7-eleven runs... and for washing the dishes when my feet swell, and folding the towels, putting away the groceries, making dinner, and rubbing my back when i just can't take the pain anymore... You have been amazing this whole entire pregnancy... even when i cried and yelled at you... you were still amazing... all that emotional stuff was not really you...

I know you are going to be the best daddy Jayden could ever have. I know that you will raise him up in the Apostolic faith that we both cherish. I know that you will teach Jayden how to pray, and how to fall in love with Jesus more and more everyday.

I cannot thank you enough. I love you.

Well a huge percentage of people voted that today would be the day... Well i do have another 10 hours or so... so someone better start praying... Real Hard!

I am miserable.

So here is an update from my last doctor appointment.

My doctor did the final measurements to tell me how big my baby will probably be. Well Jayden is measuring to be over 7 and a half pounds as of Wednesday. My doctor would like me to try to go into labor and have the baby naturally up until December 30th... anything after that will be a scheduled c-section. My doctor said the baby will be way too big to deliver naturally in 2 weeks, and he doesn't want to risk my life or Jayden's life...

So please keep me in your prayers... and pray for Jayden too... if he is born a couple weeks early we need to pray that his lungs are completely developed.

Thank you all for keeping up with my blog.. Merry Christmas to all... and to all a good night... cuz i certainly ain't gettin' sleep anymore...

This last Saturday, my mommy and my sissy came and visited me. My mom brought me my birthday present (a glider with an ottoman) and took me and my honey out for lunch.. Then we went to the Americana At Brand (which i love, by the way) its just like Disneyland right down the street (except it doesnt have rides... except for the trolley :)

Pre-Term Labor

Well Folks,

It happened again. I went into full on labor Tuesday night (December 2nd). It was awful, to say the least... and after 4 and a half hours of having OFF THE CHART contractions every 5-6 minutes... the doctor finally gave me a powerful shot and a powerful pill to make me stop. Why they didn't do that when i first got there is beyond my comprehension...

I dont want to talk about it.

It hurt, but not as bad as i expected. I was begging for an epidural though.... HA... i wasn't even dialated. Ask my mom, i am a druggie!

I love you all so much and i'm not sure how much more posting i'm going to be able to do. i will definitely have someone post as soon as this little guy gets here so stay tuned for more...

Oh yeah- a week from this Thursday- my doc is gonna let me go off all my medications and just let little Jayden get here whenever he feels like it...

I had so much fun at my first shower. Jayden got so many things! It took forever to sort through all the clothes, bibs, washcloths, hats, shoes, socks... oh my! Thank goodness i had help. My MIL and SIL and my Husband and Bekki and my next door neighbor Anne helped me sort everything into different piles- empty out my drawers, organize all my junk and then helped me set up his pack n play and his co-sleeper. I think we almost got everything done. Talk about exhausting... i have been fight this awful flu and because i'm prego, the doc wont let me take anything!! i have a cough syrup that i can take (only when its absolutely necessary)...

I stole the pics on here from my Mommy's blog cuz she hasn't sent me any yet.... i'm sure i'll post more soon. I will be heading out of town to go see all my family for thanksgiving. This year is going to be extra special. Both me and David will be with both sets of parents this year! YEAH! His family is coming to AG to have Thanksgiving with my family!!! We are so excited that we all get to be together this year.

Jayden is already dreaming of the yummy food he will be eating... (oh ya.. i meant i'm dreaming....) Turkey, potatoes, yams, stuffing, pecan and pumpkin pie, green bean casseroles, and Papa's famous ham... mmmmmmmmmmmm........ (you are making that ham right papa?) THE BABY IS REQUESTING IT!!!!! (oh ya, and don't forget... the BX at 4AM) LOLOL

Well if ya'll have been wonderin' where i disappeared to... here is a simple explanation. I have been in bed. Yep, just as easy as that...

I have gone into pre-term labor twice now, and the doctor has given me strict instructions (along with some medication). I am only allowed out of bed for 4 hours per day. And during those 4 hours, the last thing i want to do is sit down at a computer and type.. (no offense). Its amazing what you can get done in 4 hours. I'm like a mad woman!

Most of you understand that i am not a person who typically sits still. I am always busy doing something- ANYTHING- for that matter! Laying in bed for 20 hours per day has really been hard for me. I am thankful that this pregnancy has been like a piece of cake up until now.

Now i just have to lay down and relax until its time for Jayden to come. The doctor said the way that things are looking right now- i could have the baby in 4 to 6 weeks. In 6 weeks, Jayden would be considered full term anyways, so its not that big of a deal- THANK YOU JESUS!

Please keep me in your prayers.. and pray for my dear husband... you have no idea what its like to be around me when i have been in bed all day. I'm a pretty awful, miserable person...

New Found Cravings...

One of my many new found craving has been Macaroni and Cheese... YUMMMY! I woke up at 5:30 am Sunday morning and HAD TO HAVE a box of mac and cheese. OMW we didnt have any in the house and my darling husband got up and went to 7-eleven and bought me 2 boxes.... isnt he lovely? I wont tell you how much that costed....

I have no idea why my cravings have just started... its kind of funny really. I havent really had any craving except hot dogs... iced tea... coke... and huge salads... but thats not really normal.

so let me give you just a little taste of what i have been eating these past few days... i promise, i have at least gained 10 pounds in the last 3 days.

i have been eating Costco rolls, famous amos chocolate chip cookies, ben and jerrys strawberry cheescake icecream, plate-fulls of cake, potato and cheese burritos smothered in tapatio sauce, frosted flakes (with extra sugar), cheesy doritos, and grape popsicles...

And i usually eat all 7 of those things in one meal.... oh this is so embarrassing! But supposedly confession is good for the soul...

Ok so here is whats going on with me besides the crazy cravings:

i went to the doctor on Friday because i wasn't feeling to good and my doctor was a tad bit worried about a few symptoms that i was having... no, i will not discuss these symptoms on the Internet... except for one big thing: CONTRACTIONS

Contractions are not a good thing at 29 weeks so my doctor asked to see me immediately. He pretty much told me that my body was going into early labor and that it wasn't time for that yet... DUH? so he put me on this medication to keep me from going into labor, sent me home and told me that i am on bed rest until he releases me... hopefully, that will be tomorrow around 3:30 pm... i'll keep everyone posted.

So much for bed rest. I have been the most miserable patient EVER! i have been moody, depressed, anxious, angry, etc... you name it i was it!

And my back hurts from laying around all day.... Ok so yes i do have a good reason to be doing this... i have to take care of my little man... he is way too tiny right now..

So for all of you wondering... my doctor said it could just be another 6 weeks before Jayden gets here! YEAH!

Anyone have any advice on how to get ready for a CHILD! I'm panicking here folks! 6 weeks is not that long... even 8-10 weeks is not that long! HELP! HE's COMING!

The meaning of a name...

Pastor White's sermon last night- i can't even come up with the word's to describe it. There are sermon's that change lives, alter paths, and show us new light... Last night's sermon was one of those.

How many times have i heard the story of Jacob and Esau? How many times have i heard about Jacob's name change? I grew up in this Apostolic faith- its all i know. I have heard the story more times than i could ever recount, but last night- i learned something so new and so real- i will never forget this...

I will not even attempt to re-preach Pastor's sermon, but i would like to tell you of a few things that stuck out to me so vividly last night:

I learned what puts us on God's Hate List.
I learned what the Bible meant when it talked about Esau being a profane man: Profane: not having a relationship with God
I learned how to NOT get on God's Hate List: get a real relationship with God
I learned what the word Jacob really meant.- "circumventor"
I learned that Jacob was always trying to get around God's way of doing things.
I learned that God did not change his name to "Israel" until he realized that God is "the boss".

It amazes me how many times i have prayed, God, please just as long as my baby is healthy.. thats all i ask...

But truly, as Pastor White taught last night, we as Parent-to-be should be praying, God, let this baby have a relationship with you... as long as he makes it to Heaven, Lord, thats all that really matters to me...

The name Jayden is the variant of the Hebrew name, Jadon. It means: "Jehovah has heard."

God heard my prayer, He gave me a son. God heard my prayer, my son is so far alive and well and healthy...

Now I pray that God will hear this prayer for my little boy- Lord, let my son have a close relationship with you...

Well today was my 28 week checkup. My doctor informed me that if i didn't start taking 3 hours out of my daily routine to put my feet up and rest, then i would have the baby in 6-8 weeks. That doesn't sound too bad actually. What did sound bad though is that he threatened bed rest if i do not comply. Hmm... I told him - NOT ON MY LIFE!

I mean, just because I'm in my 7th month doesn't really mean that i have to STOP, right? Yes i have been cramping and I've been having some serious issues with braxton hicks, but I'm doing ok... I don't know if i can put aside 3 hours to rest. Who does that!?

Good grief. I would rather go, go, go and have the baby in 6-8 weeks. Doesn't that sound like a better idea?

25 Great things about being pregnant!

1. You're guaranteed to stop traffic whenever you cross the street.

2. People look at your stomach and can't help smiling, as if the mere thought of your being pregnant has actually made their day a little bit brighter.

3. You can eat a whole pint of chocolate-chunk ice cream and not feel guilty. Every night.

4. You can -- no, you must! --take naps. Lots of them.

5. Getting to name another human being.

6. Watching your husband turn into a father when he kisses your belly good night, reads to the baby in utero, or stays up until 3:00 a.m. putting the crib together -- just in case the baby decides to come eight weeks early.

8. Buying a bathing suit. It's not about hiding your flaws; it's about flaunting your belly.

9. Those wild, intense, amazing pregnancy dreams in which every remote person from your past makes some sort of appearance. None of these dreams can even begin to be analyzed or understood.

10. The amazing anticipation. It's like all your previous birthdays and holidays rolled into one.

11. Imagining the possibilities.

12. More personal space! And you have no qualms about claiming it.

13. You eat healthier, drink more water, and carefully read ingredient labels. Suddenly, it matters more to you what you put in your body.

28 Weeks already?

Is it just me, or has time really been flying by? I can't believe i only have 12 weeks left. My little man is fastly developing all he needs to survive.

Ok now on to my depressing but very much needed post: (sorry the spacing messed up on me)

For all of you who know me, i am not a political junky. And just recently, i have come to ABHOR politics. I really honestly cannot believe the choices we have this election for presidents. It really is a bummer. So today's post is about a political issue near and dear to my heart... Proposition 4...

Abortion by definition: An abortion is the termination of a pregnancy by the removal or expulsion of an embryo or fetus from the uterus, resulting in or caused by its death.

I know, i know.. so morbid.. but i feel like i must.

I am 28 weeks pregnant. My baby weighs close to 3 pounds and he is almost 15 inches long from head to toe. Get out a yardstick and see exactly how long that is... that is longer than a loaf of bread. He is getting to be a big boy. He is sleeping and waking at regular intervals, he can open and close his eyes, and he is even starting to have dreams...

Did you know that this Wednesday, i could go into my doctor's appointment and tell them that i would like to terminate my pregnancy and that would not be a problem?

Roe v. Wade centrally held that a mother may abort her pregnancy for any reason, up until the "point at which the fetus becomes ‘viable.’" The Court defined viable as being potentially able to live outside the mother's womb, albeit with artificial aid. Viability usually occurs at about seven months (28 weeks) but may occur earlier, even at 24 weeks."

Babies born at 28 weeks have a hard time breathing on their own. Usually they are hooked up to machines for 2 or 3 months until their lungs completely develop. There is a GREAT possibility that my doctor would say that the "fetus" is not viable (meaning that he couldn't survive outside the womb without help) and he could go ahead and tell me that i could get an abortion....

Writing this post makes me sick to my stomach. To think that young girls- like 12 and 13 years of age can go in to a clinic and abort their babies up until 28 weeks is just disgusting. And did you know that they don't even have to get permission from their parents?

If you vote yes on Prop 4- Minors are required to have a waiting period and parental notification before terminating their pregnancies.

Pastor White said its hardly anything... but it is something... I urge you to vote YES on Prop 4

There are many other Jayden's out there that were conceived- not of their choosing... Why should they have to feel the sting of a needle and shake and twitch out of control until they pass on from their short life. Its not fair... its not right....

I must vote my conscience. How about you?

Pacifier or No Pacifier???

So when do we make decisions like: do we give Jayden a pacifier? at what age do i introduce a bottle? do i introduce a bottle? do i just go from breastfeeding to a sippy cup? When do i give him table food?

I have heard that these decisions just "come to you". Hmm... I'm not too sure about that... So what are the pros and cons of a pacifier. I have heard that it damages their teeth and they grow up with buck teeth and they drool everywhere and that it will make them talk funny. I would appreciate any insight you all might provide.

I personally do not have any feelings against using the pacifier. i used one (i think) and i know several children who have. they seem like they talk just fine.

I just don't want my baby to get attached to it and then not want to give it up. My biggest fear is that he will scream and cry for two weeks because mommy won't give him his pacifier....

West Coast Conference Worries

I AM RESORTING TO THE GLORIFIED MUU MUU!!!

What is a muu muu? A muu muu is a loose dress of Hawaiian origin that hangs from the shoulder. Muʻumuʻu are also popular as maternity gowns and with obese people because they do not restrict the waist.

I have really been worrying for a long time about what to wear to WCC. Poor me... When i get ready for church David looks at me and says, "Babe, isn't that a little tight?" I will spare you my response.

I do have a couple of outfits that i can possibly wear. Well i have more than a couple.. i guess i should say i have a few, but they are getting snug on my belly and i cannot tell you how annoying it is. Sometimes you feel like you can't breath because its so tight. UGH! So if there is anyone out there that would be willing to donate a MUU MUU for my cause, please email me pictures first. I'm looking for one that is all black- maybe even red to spice things up a little.. I could always add a flower somewhere on the hideous thing and find some really cute shoes...

Otherwise, i think i will just get one made. I already have the pattern picked out.

Maybe this would explain the large belly. LOL. I have heard so many things about not drinking caffeine when prego, but i have consulted with my doctor... and although he hates the fact that i'm taking in empty calories, he said its only a risk during the first trimester.

So the first trimester, i would not even smell coffee. For those of you who may not know, i love coffee. Before pregnancy i would drink anywhere from 3 -4 cups a day. And because this pregnancy was "a surprise" i wasnt doing everything i should. I was not taking prenatal vitamins, i was drinking TONS of caffeine, i was not trying to loose weight, and i wasn't really eating as healthy as i should either. In fact my 4th week of pregnancy, i was in Washington, DC with my boss (i think i might have already told this story) anyways, i was there with my boss working crazy hours and every morning i would have a GRANDE white chocolate mocha with 4 shots of espresso. Then when i would get to our meetings i would drink another 2 cups of straight black coffee just to stay alive. My poor little baby boy survived all that even though he was only the size of a pea. He is such a strong young man.... like his mother... They say that caffeine increases your risk of miscarriage during the first trimester. I'm not sure if i believe that anymore because i drank enough caffeine to kill myself! But once i found out that i was prego, all caffination stopped! No tea, no coke, no coffee, no mocha, no espresso... no wonder why i slept the days away... good grief! how is a person supposed to live like that.

Well needless to say once i finished the first trimester and saw that my baby was going to stay with me, i began the caffination process slowly- and now its out of control again.... well, not competely out of control.

Oh great... here comes confessions... ok so every morning for the past 2 weeks i have been stopping at McDonalds for a super-sized COKE. Just a regular coke. Oh my... it feels my every longing... How can i resist? Its only 99 cents right now... Then when i get to work i have 1 cup of coffee (black... yes, i HATE sweet coffee. thats why i get 4 shots of espresso in my white chocolate mocha...)

So i just pray to God while i sip my black gold like my papa taught me... and i ask Him to watch after my little baby while i indulge in lifes most precious commodity... CAFFEINE!

For some odd reason, i am getting bigger.... and bigger.... and bigger.... Everyday David looks at me and says, "Babe, have you grown more?" The first time it was exciting that he had taken notice... The second time was more of an.... "aww, how sweet honey! you noticed!" The third time was when i threw something.

Yes, everyone, i am getting bigger. This child is growing out of control. Its pretty hilarious when you have a mother of 4 tell you that she thinks you are having twins. When i go to my appointments and i see other prego women sitting next to me- i refrain from asking how far along they are anymore.

This cute little prego young lady rode the elevator with me and my honey up to our last appointment. I knew she was going to the same place as me because she had a cute little tiny belly- so to make elevator conversation- stupid me asked, "how far along are you?" that was the last time i asked that question. She said "8 and a half months" like it was NO big deal. I said "ooooooooooo really!".... crossing my fingers, hoping and praying to the Good Lord in heaven that she would not ask me the same question.... there was a period of silence... then the famous question... "how about you?" David was already turning white in the corner and having a hard time breathing. It took him a second or two to digest that this small little pooch this lady had was almost ready to be hatched! He looked at me with the most awkward look as i tried to answer her back... oh, i'm 6 months... Now people, if you havent seen me lately, you will not understand why this was such an embarassing moment. The lady in the elevator looked at me and said, "oh". Thats it!!!! "oh"..... That was the end of that conversation.

When people ask me how far along i am- its no longer followed by: "oh, how neat".... its usually followed by: "oh, are you sure there is just one in there?"

HA! I'm just learning to laugh it off now... This child is OUT OF CONTROL! So, i need to come up with a good line to make people laugh.. any suggestions?

Seeing for the very first time.

Last night my husband and i experienced another breath taking moment. I'm not quite sure what it was exactly... maybe an elbow, or a knee... it could have been the heel of his foot, or it could have been his hand... Our baby showed us a little taste of what its going to be like to touch him... and see him... for the very first time. It was so small... just a little tiny bump. It felt so real- it felt so fragile.. being able to brush our hands over the little bump that poked out of my tummy for about 30 seconds... felt like an hour. It seemed like everything was moving in slow motion. I felt an uncomfortable feeling on the side of my belly and just naturally just rubbed it. I kind of jumped when i realized that there was something actually there. I ran over to my husband as fast as i could and together we felt the little protruding whatever it was... Smiling... laughing... crying... really feeling as if we are seeing for the very first time...

What an amazing little miracle that is growing inside. Jayden is constantly moving around these days. This was the first time that he actually gave us a visual. I just wish i could identify what it was exactly. I guess that will come with time.

It is so hard to imagine that in 3 months, our lives are going to be completely changed. It is a little nerve racking at times, but with every passing day, with every smile that stretches across David's face from ear to ear, and with every little kick that Jayden gives me as a reminder that he can hardly wait to see me too....my desire to meet this little one grows stronger...

On the day he is born, i know, i will be seeing for the very first time...

How literal will my baby be?

Little Johnny and his family were having Sunday dinner at his Grandmother's house. Everyone was seated around the table as the food was being served. When Little Johnny received his plate, he started eating right away. 'Johnny! Please wait until we say our prayer.' said his mother. 'I don't need to,' the boy replied. 'Of course, you do,' his mother insisted. 'We always say a prayer before eating at our house.' 'That's at our house,' Johnny explained. 'But this is Grandma's house, and she knows how to cook!

Oh the things i remember about Grandma's cookin'. My favorite was and will always be potato soup with cornbread and extra pepper. I ate and ate and ate until my grandparents told me it was coming out my ears. Another one of my favorites was grandma's homemade lemon meringue pie. The crust was the best part!

A Sunday school teacher asked, 'Johnny, do you think Noah did a lot of fishing when he was on the Ark?' 'No,' replied Johnny. 'How could he, with just two worms.'

I just wanted to let you all know that i am traveling to San Diego today and will be there thru Saturday evening on business. I may not be posting as much. I will have a laptop, but there is no guarantee that i will be able to find Wifi.

Ok so the comic that i had up here was great but the people i got it from or not so great. let me try to explain the comic to you.. ok so there was this guy walking down the street with a picket sign that says "Time For A Change!" and then this mom comes walking down the street and has a baby in a stroller.. and the baby says: "Is it really that noticeable?" So, ya. its funnier if you see it

HAHAHAH! I just had to post this. This is the best comic i have seen in awhile. Now i'm sure most of you know that i can't stand politics, but recently thats all i have been hearing. "We want change!" Well can someone please tell me what those changes are going to be because i'm not hearing much of anything. Actually dont tell me... i dont want to know.

God only knows what this poor baby is going to live through. Did you know that its possible that Jayden could live until the year "2089" or even longer? Just imagine what can happen in another 80 years. We think our world is crazy now?

What happened to those "good ol' days"? I love hearing my Papa tell me about those times. Things seemed so much easier than they are today. Ya, they had to work really hard to keep food on their table, but they were happy. They didnt have cell phones, ipods, computers, internet, or email. Dont get me wrong- i am very thankful for technology. But sometimes i wonder how life might be if we didnt have the luxury of a split second communication device. Think of all the crazy things invented in 2008. Here is one that i think you may not have heard of:

While the available fragrances sound pleasant enough (strawberry, citrus, mountain rain, meadow dew, discarded stem cells and urban blight) the smell can be sometimes overpowering and if the phone is within 2 feet of the person's eyes when an incoming call is received the eyes will temporarily burn, water and swell.

Hmm... i wonder.... what else might be invented by the time Jayden is 16?

The Cutest Kid On The Block

I spend a lot of time day dreaming about what my baby is going to look like. I want to know if he will have dark brown almost black hair (like daddy or me) or if he will have red hair (like some of davids family members, or my mom)? Will he have dark eyes? or will he have green eyes? Will he have piano fingers? Will he have long toes? Will he have dimples? Will he have big lips or small lips? Will he have distinct eyebrows? will he be short? (probably) LOL Poor child doesnt have much of a choice there...

I know my baby is going to be the cutest thing i have ever seen.

OH THE JOYS OF THE KICKS

On Friday night, David got to feel the baby kick for the very first time. It was such a special moment. We were laying in bed and Jayden was being hyperactive as always. I havent been able to feel him on the outside yet with my own hands, so i thought well... why not just have david try to feel what i'm feeling on the inside. So here we are laying side by side... Silent. I dont know what us talking had to do with anything, but we didnt say a word. We laid there in silence and i felt the baby move a couple of times and i kept saying, "did you feel that!" and he would say... "no"... its kind of funny sitting there waiting. He didnt really know what he was waiting for. So finally Jayden gave a big kick, and i didnt even have to ask that time. David's eyes lit up the room and he said "wow, how neat!"... and just a couple seconds later Jayden said hi again with another kick for daddy.

My eyes mist over writing this post. It wasnt even a year ago that the doctor informed me that i was infertile. The memory of him telling me that it would be impossible for me to conceive has faded with the reality of my little one moving inside and the dreams that i have of who Jayden Anthony Gonzales will one day become. I know i'm emotional because of pregnancy and all, but seeing the look on my husbands face as he felt his baby move for the very first time put a new found love in my heart for this man that God has blessed me with. The gratefulness to God for this little miracle bouncing around inside of me while i drive home from work is new everyday. I am so blessed...
